I would take it to your local police or firestation or call your car dealership. You can get it installed by an expert, and they’ll teach you everything you need to know to do it yourself. In a lot of vehicles today you might have to get a pool noodle (one of those foam things you play with in the water) and cut a length of it to fit under the back of the carseat to stabilize it. Either that or use some rolled up towels. But, if you contact your dr’s office or the hospital maternity ward they can probably tell you who has car seat installers that can do it for you!
most carseats today come with clips attached to the bottom(on the back). Most cars (the back seats) have black hooks embedded in the cushion. These black hooks are for those clips to attach to and it keeps the carseat from moving as much.
The best way to get the car seat in good is to put your knee into it…all of your weight….If it has a sliding buckle you know free sliding up and down the belt then you have to have a belt clip (see the bottom of the car seat )The car seat instructions will tell you how to put it on…If you put the car seat in the middle of the back seat all you have to do is put it in rear facing for babies 1year and at least 20 lbs (they must be both to be safe because a baby younger than a year doesn`t`t have Strong enough neck mussels and it would break the neck.)Put your knee in it w/ all your weight and buckle it up and pull to make tight.Forward facing for children older than 1 and at least 20lbs same as above the middle is the best….Locking clip is the name of the car seat clip…..you can usually buy one at your local health dep…they can show you how to put one in.I hope that helps ,be safe…If the seat moves more than 1 inch in any dirrection that its not safe….
there are professional installers out there that are trained with tons of hours in car seat installation classes. we took ours to a local fireman that does it on the side as a passion since his son was injured in an accident. call around to fire houses and the police department in your area to see if there is such a person near you that does it for free!
