Is it okay for a car seat to be in the front seat of a truck?

My fiance and I are moving back to New Jersey. And we need to rent a moving truck. But we have a 3 month old son that still sits in an infant car seat. My mother told me it's illegal for a baby to be in the front seat. But I've heard from one other person that it's okay, as long as there isn't a back seat available. And a moving van isn't big enough for all of our stuff.

You can do this in all states just push the drivers seat as far back as possible as well as turning off the airbag and if the airbag cannot be turned off then just drive safe…

You should be careful, the laws will probably change from state to state.

My husband has an S-10 pick up. He picks our daughter up from daycare every day. We don’t have a choice. We have to put the carseat in the truck. He’s never gotten pulled over. She is now 2 and has a front facing seat.

i know that it is illegal to put a infant car seat in the front due to the airbags but im not sure how it would work if you have a moving van i think u should consult with the dmv or the ministry of transportation better safe then sorry

The only time you can’t have a car seat in the front seat is if you have air bags.
