The next step is a convertible seat. These rear face and forward face. Most will last your child several years.

The safest way for a young child to travel is rear facing. The minimum age to turn a child forward is one year old AND 20 lbs. However, it is still five times safer for them to remain rear facing. The AAP recommends to *at least* 2 years and 30 pounds, but preferably to the limits of the seat. The limits will vary by seat, but most are between 35 and 40 lbs for weight and when the top of the head comes within one inch of the top of the hard shell for height. They can then continue to use the same seat forward facing (there will be higher limits for forward)

    Some convertibles I would recommend:
    Graco MyRide65
The First Years True Fit or True Fit Premiere
    Britax Boulevard or Marathon
    Sunshine Kids Radian 65/80/XT (SL)
    Safety 1st Avenue
    Cosco Scenera

Look online at some of the manufacturers websites for the models they sell

Once your baby is big enough to be done with a rear-facing car seat (usually around 1 year of age), you can switch to a front facing/convertible car seat. You can still use the same stroller, just without the car seat as the place your baby sits in.

Here are Target’s convertible car seats which are what would be appropriate at this point:

I hope you find one you like!
