What are some must have for a new baby?
Just trying to figure out if I missed anything I might need. What where some must have for you? I am have a boy next month. Just curious as I am going shopping tomorrow for baby.
What I have so far:
Swing
0-12 Month Clothing
Double Stroller
Infant Car Seat
Moby Wrap
Ergo Carrier
Newborn Diapers
Blankets
Arms Reach - Co Sleeper
Diaper Bag
Medela B.Pump
Play Mat

List alterations: I would lover it to 0-6 month clothes. Babies grow fast and they may not need 6m winter clothes instead may need 12m. Buy sizes as you go, if you see their clothes are getting fitted, buy more.
I would cancel the Moby Wrap, they are really thick material and you will be HOT and sweat during the summer! I suggest the baby bjorn instead, they’re great, we have 2.
Items to Add:
Wipes, wipe warmer
Baby Bathtub with soaps and lotions
Baby Tylenol
Mylicon (for gas)
Bottles, how will you feed pumped milk?
Bibs and burp clothes
Baby Monitor
Thermometer, i suggest instant ear kind
Baby nail clippers
baby q-tips
Pacifiers
Bouncer chair.
scented diaper disposal bags or water proof bag for soiled diapers – please don’t throw dirty diapers in parking lot!
receiving blankets….great for burping and spit up as well as swaddling!
infant pacifier!
they work wonders.
Lets see:
boppy pillow (great for feeding time)
wipes
diaper rash cream (just in case)
blanket sleepers (are amazing than you don’t have to worry about them getting caught in the blankets)
Good luck
with me once I got home with her I noticed i needed alot more blankets because she would spit up on them and I needed alot more socks..I wish i would have gotten I wipe warmer (somepeople say you need then others dont care!) bath towels are one of the things I went out and bought the day I brought her home you will find out about more stuff you need as you are caring for your baby
All babies need is:
*Food (breast, bottle, cups, breastmilk, formula, etc)
*Love
*Warmth (clothes blankets)
*A safe place to sleep
And if they are ever going to be in a car a carseat.
A baby doesn’t NEED a play mat, or a swing. I won’t say that baby carriers aren’t highly useful, I love mine, but they aren’t a *need*. And certainly you don’t necessarily need two.
Personally I believe that co-sleepers are dangerous because you can’t nurse the baby in them, so at some point you will bring the baby into your bed and accidentally fall asleep. Using a co-sleeper means that you are probably not as attentive to making your bed safe for baby. INTENTION and responsibility are also two key components for co-sleeping. Any one in the bed needs to be aware that the baby is there and agree to be responsible for the safety of the baby -otherwise its not safe.
lots and lots of bathing items (towels, tub, soap ect, diapers size 1 & 2)

bottles – since you have a pump you also need to feed lol
— I recommend avent they are latex free as well as bda free.
bum ointment
band aides
thermometer
and lots of laundry soap
hair clips for you or a short do
a good vacuum cleaner
lots of patience and love
I would buy a FEW bottles and a little formula just in case, you never know if you might need it. Also some pacifiers if you are going to allow baby to have one! Baby wipes, baby bath tub, etc…
Bouncy seat- you dont really have to have one but i loved mine…i would put my kids in it to cook dinner…or if i was home by myself and needed a shower i would bring it in the bathroom etc.
Pack n Play-most turn into a bassinet as well and its great if you visit family alot to just take down and put back up.
