What is the best Graco Stroller/carseat combo?

I am expecting my first baby in about 6 weeks and I am hunting for a good stroller. I would like to get a Graco stroller/car seat combo however looking through all the different models I am unsure which to chose from? For those of you who have them what are your experiences and what would you recommend?

Also most of our stuff is new like the crib bassinet ect. but I am wondering about the stroller is it ok to get that second hand if it appears in really good condition or would it be better to go new for safety reasons?

You shoudl absolutely get a new car seat unless you know the person that used it very well. If the car seat has been involved in an accident, its safety is compromised. A used stroller poses no health risks, though, as long as it is in good condition.

I have the Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe (I think that is what it is called) in the G Galore pattern. I absolutely LOVE it! We picked this because our daughter’s name was Gwendalyn (G) and it matched our other items. It was the best though! The car seat that comes with the combo is the Safe Seat, which has a higher weight limit than Graco’s Snug Ride, and is a little larger. Seems more comfortable to me! The stroller is AMAZING! She is almost 18 months old now, so it will not work this year, but last year we were at the baseball field nearly every night of the week between practice and games for her two older siblings. I would lay the seat back flat, put up the "boot" (used to turn it into a carriage of sorts for a newborn) and she would sit in there backwards, as if it were a mini playpen and play with her toys.

We still use the stroller now, though we can not use it as the play pen. It is still comfortable for her. The basket is large, there is a lot of extra storage options (cupholders, caddy for keys/phone, etc). I can fold it with one hand.

The pattern is nice because it is dark, but not black-juice stains and such do not show up as bad as they would on black or lighter fabrics.

It does come in other patterns, though, besides G Galore.

The two major options you have in Graco is SnugRide and SafeSeat. Biggest difference is that SnugRide is only good up to 20 pounds, while SafeSeat is good up to 30 pounds. I’m glad we went with SafeSeat because my son was 20 pounds by the time he was 6 months.

Other than that, the differences are just in the style you pick out.

Second hand baby stuff can usually be found in great condition although a carseat is not something I would use second hand

my husband and i bought the graco snugride combo, it works great, easy to get the car seat in and out of the car with the base, but it doesnt seem like the carseat fastens into the stroller very securely, it holds babies from 5 to 22 lbs, and after reading momseys response i am thinking that maybe the safeseat wouldnt have been a better choice, my son is 4 months and 14.5 lbs
