when should i get a stroller? what kind?
i'm planning on getting a sling or wrap to carry my baby in, but i imagine after a bit i'll want a stroller. it will most likely be used directly from our home for walks to the park, the occassional hike, or occassionally for trips to the mall or events like the fair or something. also, i have a 'wagon' style car, so plenty of space for it. i want something that's easy to push (i'm tall) and easy to fold, lightweight, but obviously sturdy & safe! i also want one good for slightly rougher terrain than just a sidewalk.
what kind of stroller would be best? what did you like?
should i skip the one with the infant seat that attaches since i'll be using a sling?
thanks!
i have been eyeing those three-wheeled ones...

try the three wheeler
i think u should get ne that has the car attched to it. it comes in hady so that way u dont need to buy the things sepparte.
you should get a light weight stroller they really come in handy, i also had a carseat/stroller for long walks.
You will more than likely get tired of carrying the baby.
You will need the stroller.
I would get one with the infant seat and base. Graco is the best brand for the money. It is high quality and doesn’t empty your wallet. I used a Graco for both of my children and recommend it highly. I have mine for sale now – it is 4 years old and in excellent condition.
Just get one that you like. There are inexpensive ones where the back will lay down, and you can actually put an infant in there with the headrest you use in your carseat so their head doesn’t flop. I wouldn’t buy the one with the carseat attached. They are big and heavy and I had a hard time fitting it into my car.
The infant seat that attaches is the car seat and it is soooo nice because if your baby falls asleep in the car and you don’t want to wake him/her up, you just pop it on the stroller and they continue to sleep. It’s well worth the money, can’t imagine life w/o it. Even if you’re just going to the grocery store. You don’t want to wake up ur baby to put it in the sling! So … Graco has a great product but so does just about all. They have nice tires that are good for bumpy rides! Smooth sailing … Oh and get it 4 weeks early, in case baby is early. U need the carseat to leave the hospital!
the sling is nice for the first month since they have no head control at all but as they get a bit older and heavier
you’ll want the stroller. my husband and i purchased a travel combo since they’ll be in the infant seat for a year and the stroller carries up to 50 pounds. it’s so convenient since she’s in the seat that comes out of the car all we have to do is take her from the car in her seat and snap her in the stroller. the back of it reclines from straight up to all the way down so when they’re older then can lay down and nap while you shop or what have you. it folds up pretty compact and all you do is push a button and twist the handle and it folds all the way down then you lock it, my husband is also very tall, 6’2 and he pushes it comfortably. it’s mady by graco. good luck
Besides getting a travel stroller (you really need that), I would suggest a jogger stroller as well. That will do good for the walks. A good inexpensive one is the Jeep brand, it works for all ages & it’s very durable. Congratulations & good luck.
I suggest a Maclaren. Most of them can be used from birth. They are also pretty light and easy to get in and out of the car. I have the Maclaren Twin Traveller for my girls and a Maclaren Techno for my niece and I love both of them, never had a problem with it, and would definitely buy another!
