Where to Find a good crib?

So my baby is almost 3 months and we still do not have a crib. She sleeps in the bassinet part of her pack and play in our room. Well she is fast out growing that and will need her own crib soon. We really wanted this nice convertible crib (crib, toddler bed, full size bed) from a local furniture store buy it cost 0. It is really nice and I know really high quality. We have been saving and can purchase it now, however I feel like there may be another crib out there that is just as nice but not so expensive. What are your experiences and where did you get your crib. A lot of places you have to order sight unseen and that makes me nervous. I would like to spend around 0 for it. We also need to get another car seat soon because she is outgrowing hers and I want to get a nice convertible one that will last, but I want to put money on that because that is her safety.
We have a small over crowded Toys-r-us and the baby section is really small and only has a couple of the cheaper cribs. Yeah I want her to get a little bigger before we get the carseat. We got our last one from there and it is really small and she is really big.

I bought my son, my first a good crib, it was $900. It was very expensive, but it changes into a full so he will have it untill he moves out. I also bought him an expensive mattress when it was time to switch. We could afford it at the time so it was a great investment.
When my daughter came money was tight so we got a crib second hand knowing she would only be in it for a few years. When it was time for a bed we bought her a twin bed. Hopefully next year we can get her a nice bedroom set.
So…if money is tight and you are planning on another just get a crib, not convertable so you can have if you need it in the future and get your daughter a bed when it is time.
It is nice to have an expensive crib for your first, but not necessasary they are only in it for a few years. and you are right to want to get a good carseat, much more important.
Try babies r us, they have some nice cribs in your $300 price range, with good reviews. You may be able to order it at the store to avoid shipping costs.

Do you have a Babies R Us anywhere near you? They have their cribs up and displayed in their store so you can see what you’re getting. We got ours(it’s a lifetime crib too) there for around $400 and it’s pretty nice. They also have their convertible seats out so you can try your baby out in them to see which works best.

Aside from there I think Burlington Coat Factory has a small selection of cribs.

we bought this set, there are rails and a nightstand u can order for future use after it is converted; it is very pretty and very heavy and sturdy, i am very pleased with the purchase, although the price has dropped and that kinda sucks, LOL

it was also rated number one on buzzillions, and a couple more of the same crib of a different stain made the top ten…

We bought a $600 crib for my first kid 10 years ago. She chewed on it, ruining the beautiful wood finish. She used it as a trampoline when we made it into a toddler bed and and ripped out the screws out that held the springs in place. We bought her a twin bed and stuck the crib in the basement. My husband fixed the crib before the next baby came along and we didn’t have any problems with it, but never did use it as a full sized bed. I really think a crib from Target would have been just as good as the one we got from the fancy baby store. My youngest child never even slept in the crib, he used a playpen. I actually think they are safer because their aren’t any slats for them to get their legs stuck in.
