Which convertible car seat would you recommend?

I would like to find one that reclines a bit as my baby (9 months) still sleeps in the car, one that is comfortable for my baby, and one that will fit well in my car in the rear facing position. I drive a 2008 Saturn Vue (a small SUV) and with my daughter's infant seat installed, the passenger seat has to be all the way forward. I know I am asking a lot, but there has to be a car seat out there that will work for us. LOL! Thanks! :)

I’m not sure it will fit, but I love britax marathons.

I totally agree, Britax marathons or Britax Roundabouts. This is the best brand on the market, and you definitely get what you pay for (meaning a lot) Also, they are great because one holds up to 65 lbs and the other is 80 lbs I think so your baby will be able to use it for a great amount of time!

I was researching car seats for a while now, and I found a great site that might be helpful to you. http://www.findmycarseat.com. This website is all about car seats, and if you click on the convertible tab on the left side, you can find just what you’re looking for!

    Hope this helps! :)

I think you’ll be surprised at how little room convertibles end up taking compared to the infant buckets. It has to do with the angle the seat is at and the fact that it’s not on a base with a handle – that adds so much install room.

In the Saturn Vue, you have those funky middle latch connectors (that take up like 2 seats because they are off-set). I’ve put a britax marathon in that car, and I’m sure you can pretty much get any convertible installed in that car with little issue.

A few other seats I’d look at:
Britax Roundabout 50 (not the original roundabout… the 50 is a much longer lasting seat – similar to the marathon)
    Britax Marathon/Boulevard/Advocate
    Evenflo Triumph Advanced
    The First Year’s True Fit

All of these seats are great for rear facing (extended rear facing! look into it!), and eventually make nice long lasting forward facing seats that should get your daugher to booster age (min. 4 and 40lbs – but these seats fit many 5/6 year olds).
